Computers in cars ? do they suffer a higher chance of a crash. I have a small PC with Microsoft 2009 GPS prog?

I have the new Eee PC 1000 with flash memory. They say it's rugged because of that fact. Any programs need to be loaded by an external CD -drive and I don't think there is a conventional internal hard drive. If this is true........... is this unit ok for use in a bumpy car ? thanks in advance to anyone who can help
