I think most likely he was a stray. If an owner cared for a cat enough that he doesnt bite or ch and is very loving, it would also love it enough to get its shots updated each year and take it for check ups every now and then. There are numerous cats that come off the streets who are VERY loving, all they want is for someone to love them back! I think it is great that you saved this cats life. You now have a cat who will forever be grateful (although he isnt able to tell you) he will reward you will purrs and attention. The reason he probably meows so much and is social is because since he has someone who took him in and loves him, like you do, he wants to tell you everything and he knows you are listening to him! Cats love you no matter how much you weigh, no matter how ugly you are or how dirty your house is, as long as you love them, they will love you back!
