Time to spread my wings and fly?!?

I live on my own. Only child.However dads way of saying i love you is by way of money. It was real cool growing up not wanting for anything. And i must admit car insurance and what being paid for is a luxury. BUT im 24 now and he holds it over my head. If i make a mistake or wrong turn he threatens to take stuff away. Its pitiful actually. Hes the type to take offense if I suggest doing it on my own. Help :(
